On August 26, the U.S. EPA made updates to all Energy STAR scores - with most buildings seeing a decrease in their scores. The latest scores are based on the upgrade from 2003 to 2012 U.S. EIA Commercial Building Energy Consumption Survey (CBES) datasets. Since 2003, ESPM has become an industry standard for benchmarking energy performance. More organizations are voluntarily using ESPM to report on energy consumption than ever before - and they deserve to be using data that's not 15 years old.
BenchmarkMyBuilding.com, Lucid's free tool to benchmark your buildings, automatically inherits this dataset upgrade. To quickly see the change in a building, enter just 3 items - building type, size, & location - at BenchmarkMyBuilding.com.
